The Grind Run Company Protocol

Runaways Run Club / Grind Run Co. (“RRC”) is a safe space for all. We are incredibly proud of our strong and inclusive community and we strive to put participant ease and safety at the forefront in all our events and interactions. Harassment, sexual or otherwise, of any participant at any of our runs or events, is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. Further, unwanted or uninvited contact that causes offense or discomfort in non-run settings by a member is strongly discouraged and may result in expulsion from RRC. No person is exempt from this protocol.

RULES OF ENGAGEMENT

Every person who participates in an RRC event, or joins the social media platforms, has the right to an environment where individuals are treated with dignity and respect. RRC is committed to providing an environment free of discrimination. Abusive, offensive, or harassing behavior is not tolerated. This includes body shaming, inappropriate or non-consensual speech, touching, or gesturing that causes offense or discomfort on the part of the recipient. We ask that all of our participants:

  • Actively encourage a positive experience that is free of hostile and offensive behaviors. Harassment is defined as; any unwelcome or inappropriate written, verbal or physical action; or coercive behavior, where the behavior is known or reasonably ought to be recognized as unwanted or unwelcome.
  • Welcome and respect the dignity of all individuals and groups, regardless of race, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender expression, age, physical or mental disability, size or appearance, genetic pre-disposition, religion, ancestry, national origin, or veteran status.

CONSEQUENCES AND REMEDIATION:

  • If you experience unwanted, uninvited, or offensive treatment while interacting with RRC, whether on social media, or in person, please notify a member of leadership. All information will be held in confidence. RRC leadership pledges to be transparent and to communicate our remediation efforts in order to attempt to obtain a satisfactory outcome.
  • Any participant reported to, or witnessed by, leadership as not acting in accordance with RRC protocol will be scrutinized and an appropriate course of action will be taken, which may include censure or expulsion.
